Do you know what this winter indicates? Time to move out of your work loop and spend some time travelling, which you probably wouldn't have done in the other seasons.

"Okay, but where should I travel," you say?

Well, try visiting the charming town of Orchha, a hidden gem in the heart of India where history, culture, and nature combine together to create a magical experience.

No matter which corner you reside in, it is a journey to the heart of India, Madhya Pradesh.

Why Orchha?

Staying on the banks of the Betwa River, Orchha is a hidden treasure in the heart of Central India. Once the capital of the Bundela dynasty, this charming town has become a popular tourist destination for its stunning palaces, forts, and temples.

It is a town of differences, acting as a home to both grand architectural wonders and calm natural beauty. While one side of the Orchha is history, the other half is ecotourism.

In addition to historical and natural beauties, Orchha can treat you with vibrant culture and traditions. One such thing is the Orchha Dussehra Festival, a 10-day celebration about to close on the 30th of this month (October).

The ruler of the Bundela dynasty, Raja Rudra Pratap Singh, founded Orchha in the 16th century. The town grew under the Bundela rule and became a major centre of art, culture, and architecture.

This town is a perfect example of a "secular nation" as it is home to Hindus, Muslims, and Jains living together in harmony with festivals, cuisine, and handicrafts, exhibiting cultural diversity.
