People often say dense forests are dangerous and we should never dare to set foot in them. I promise! It isn't the first time I have heard that. Perhaps, I listen to it each time I visit a new place I haven't been to.

But what if I say that on the other side of the thick woods, there is a place waiting for you to explore its beauties with your adventure spirits - the tall trees, untouched walking trails, unseen wildlife, undisturbed rivers, and more?

Yes, one such place is Kanger Valley National Park. The more you walk in, the more peace you experience, and soon, you will get into another world that more feels like you are dreaming.

  • Chitrakote Falls

Did you hear about Niagra Falls at the US and Canada border - tall falls with the best views, the light show at night, and ship rides in the water? How good does it feel, and we immediately get attracted, don't we? Located at 56 Km, get the feel of Niagra by visiting Chitrakote Falls, known as the Niagara Falls of India.

  • Jagdalpur

One of the best things about exploring a new place is that you get to see the lifestyle of locals and how their system is entirely different from how you live. One such place to understand the Chhattisgarhiya people's lives is Jagdalpur. Distanced at 21.8 km, walk around the local markets and visit the Anthropological Museum to understand the rich cultural heritage.

Must Buy Things

Take home something that reminds you of the good memories you had over here by carrying a physical object that exhibits the essence of this valley and Chhattisgarh. Some such unique objects are:

Bastar handicrafts are available on every side of the local market, as well as the well-known Dhokra antiques. With the lost-wax casting technique, the local tribal people make these brass and bronze handmade items that showcase the ability of Bastar tribals. Buy one of these items to carry the old Chhattisgarh home.

  • Handwoven Textiles

When people are looking for ways to be uncommon, take a chance to look unique by buying one of these handwoven clothes. Since people here are tribal and old-fashioned, their approach to clothing or dressing is modest. From sarees to shawls and scarves, buy items that interest you to try a different retro look.
