You remember, a few days back, I wrote about the cultural insights of Madurai and how one of my friends told me about his secret way to get peace living in the city itself? 

After a few days of our conversation, I set foot in Madurai for the first time with many expectations. Unfortunately, it was a disaster. The reason is that I had no perfect itinerary and spent the whole time travelling. 

So, as for you, I do not want you to commit the same mistake and here's the itinerary you can follow.

Madurai has a rich and ancient history dating back over 2,500 years. It served as the capital of the powerful Pandya dynasty, who ruled South India from the 6th century BCE to the 13th century CE. The Cholas, Nayaks, and the British Raj ruled this city and left their mark on culture. 

This historic city sits on the banks of the Vaigai River in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Three hills - Yanaimalai (Elephant Hill), Nagamalai (Snake Hill), and Pasumalai (Cow Hill) - form a scenic backdrop to the city. The lands around Madurai are a mix of fertile plains and rocky outcrops.

- Kaipidi (கைப்பிடி) - Can I come in? (used when entering a house)
- Ungal peru enna? (உங்கள் பெயர் என்ன?) - What is your name? (formal)

Madurai experiences a tropical savanna climate. The hottest months are April to June, with temperatures reaching 40°C. The monsoon season arrives in July, bringing some relief from the heat. Winters are pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 18°C to 28°C.
